Would you like some Green Space at Stokehill?

As well as the training available for teachers and farmers,  you can enjoy health walks, workshops and longer courses at Stokehill - and most of these are free!

Calm on the farm Health Walks

Calm on the Farm is part of the South Somerset Walking for Health scheme.  If you belong to an existing Health Walk groups or any other types of group who would like a gentle walk around Stokehill, please get in touch. We do have a fixed programme of walks but we can often be flexible about  finding a date to suit your group.

Our farm could be covered in about 30 minutes - but we take about an hour and a half,  spending plenty of time stopping and looking at livestock and wildlife on the farm before refreshments in the barn.

These walks are ideal for groups who would like to spend some time walking at a gentle pace, with time to appreciate the seasonal changes in the green space of our small farm.

Green Space at Stokehill

If you enjoy spending time connecting with nature and with other people, whilst gaining some new skills and knowledge, a Green Space course could be just the thing for you.

There are half day workshops and six week courses in the Green Space range.  Half day workshops last three hours and six week courses consist of weekly sessions of two and a half hours.

We cover a wide range of food, farming and countryside themes.  Each session includes a gentle walk around part of the farm, an optional practical activity and information about other local social, practical or  volunteering opportunities.

Green Space courses are part of the Transform Ageing initiative and they are delivered in partnership with SS&L as part of the Community Learning Partnership. Sessions are free* for eligible participants.
