Would you like some Green Space at Stokehill?
As well as the training available for teachers and farmers, you can enjoy health walks, workshops and longer courses at Stokehill - and almost all of these are free!
COVID-19: For the moment, most on-farm activities are suspended but Moving Forward continues. The course is now available both online and onsite, with its focus still on green space, creative activities and collaboration. Please use the Contact Form below to get in touch if you would like to discuss the onsite or online Moving Forward courses.
Calm on the farm Health Walks
Calm on the Farm is part of the South Somerset Walking for Health scheme. If you would like a gentle walk around Stokehill, please get in touch. We we can often be flexible about finding a date to suit small groups.
Our farm could be covered in about 30 minutes - but we take about two hours, spending plenty of time learning about the livestock and wildlife on the farm before refreshments in the barn.
These walks are ideal for groups who would like to spend some time walking at a gentle pace, with time to appreciate the seasonal changes in the green space of our small farm.

Green Space at Stokehill
If you enjoy spending time connecting with nature and with other people, whilst gaining some new skills and knowledge, a Green Space course could be just the thing for you.
There are half day workshops and six week courses in the Green Space range. Half day workshops last three hours and six week courses consist of weekly sessions of two and a half hours.
We cover a wide range of food, farming and countryside themes. Each session includes a gentle walk around part of the farm, an optional practical activity and information about other local social, practical or volunteering opportunities.
If you would like to find out more about upcoming workshops and courses, please get in touch, using the contact form below.
Moving Forward is a special six week course for people who are living with and beyond cancer (at any time from diagnosis onwards, even if treatment ended several years ago). The course has received excellent feedback from participants and it has been externally evaluated by the South West Academic Health Network (SWAHSN).

Patients are often signposted to this course from Yeovil District Hospital, Macmillan workers and local Health Centre Health Coaches but if you would like to join this course, or to find out more about it, please feel free to get in touch, using the contact form below.
Until December 2020 at least, Moving Forward is available as an online course as well as an onsite one at Stokehill.
Green Space courses, including Moving Forward, are delivered in partnership with Petroc and with SS&L as part of the Community Learning Partnership. This is why we are able to provide them free of charge for eligible* participants.
* Please get in touch if you would like to find out when the next course starts and whether you are eligible for a free place. Some participants are also eligible to have their transport costs to and from Stokehill covered.
